About the Council
Who We Are
A non-profit, voluntary business council working with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan — formed under the Overseas Business Promotion Program of Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Commerce, and dedicated since 2003 to developing bilateral trade.

President’s Message
Building opportunity
through connection.
It is a great honor and privilege for me to serve as the President of the Sri Lankan Business Council of Japan (SLBCJ). Since its establishment in 2003, the SLBCJ has been dedicated to strengthening trade, investment, and tourism relations between Sri Lanka and Japan, while also supporting the growth and development of the Sri Lankan business community in Japan.
When I first became a member of the Sri Lankan Business Council of Japan, I was a 25-year-old young businessman beginning my professional journey. Through the Business Council, I was fortunate to gain many valuable experiences, particularly in organizing business events, cultural programs, and festivals that promote Sri Lanka in Japan.
