The Council Story

The Sri Lanka Business Council of Japan is a non-profit, voluntary organisation working closely with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan. We connect companies, founders and professionals through trade promotion, networking, seminars and cultural exchange.

A bridge founded by 61 business representatives

SLBCJ’s inaugural meeting was held in the conference room of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tokyo, attended by 61 Japanese and Sri Lankan business representatives. The non-profit, voluntary council was formed in line with the policy direction of Sri Lanka’s Overseas Business Promotion Program.

Purpose

Develop, expand and encourage bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and Japan.

Work with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan, member companies and partner organisations in both countries.
