SLBCJ managed to take a big step towards of dream having the Japanese "KOBAN" system in Sri Lanka.
[18 September, 2020]
We as the SLBCJ managed have a meeting with very high profile personals related to the Japanese government and the Japanese Police department to discuss about the possibilities of introducing this community police station system called "KOBAN" to Sri Lanka. SLBCJ President managed to invite the SLBCJ former president Prince Samuel also to join the meeting. Mr. Takahashi the former President of the Japan Sri Lanka friendship association organized this historical meeting.
After the world war Japan managed to have 6,600 KOBAN s all over the country and this is keeping the public security in a very high position. This is a very simple system about four to six offices for 24 hours a day covering the allocated area. They are given bicycles to go around about 400 houses in the area and they work with the neighbors very friendly.
We living in Japan has been giving this idea too many Sri Lankan governments and also giving this idea in TV programs when SLBCJ President was interviewed. we believe now is the best time for us to get the full support from the Japanese government and start this system with some samples and try this out.
This has been implemented in some countries around the world Brazil, Hawaii, Indonesia, Singapore and brought results showing a rapid decrease of the criminal violence.
People who are living in Japan please share this idea and you know the benefits of the KOBAN so help us to promote this.
