SLBCJ awards a Brand new Car at 2008 Sri Lanka Festival

2008 Sri Lankan Festival was a huge success as This time SLBCJ awarded a Grand Raffle Draw which awarded the lucky winner to take away, A Brand New 2008 model SUZUKI SWIFT car worth Japanese yen 1.3 Million. 300 tickets were issued with a ticket priced at JPY 5000 each on which The SLBCJ members managed to sell 232 tickets during the two days. The GRAND DRAW was held on 14th Sept at 5 pm with the presence of The H.E. the Ambassador Mr. Ranjith Uyangoda, the SLBCJ current President, Mr. Jagath Ramanayake and the other Vice Presidents of SLBCJ.

A child from the audience was requested pick the lucky winner and coincidently the winner was Mr. Samantha Ramanayake (No: 001) who is the wife of the current President. The ticket was generously pooled back again buy her for a re-draw and this was appreciated by the crowd with a loud applause. The raffle was re-drawn and another child from the gathering picked the ticket no.105 as the Lucky winner. The lucky ticket was bought by Ms. Suzuki Nami who came from the Shizuoka Prefecture, and the keys of the elegant Black colour Suzuki car was handed over to her by H.E. the Ambassador and the President of SLBCJ.
