Sinhala / Tamil New Year Festival 2009 [25 April, 2009]
The Sri Lanka new year festival 2009 was held at Enro Grounds (Toride / Ibaraki Prefecture). Organized by the Sri Lanka Embassy through the collaboration of the Sri Lanka Student Association, Sri Lanka Association and Sri Lanka Business Community.
The ceremony commenced from 10.00AM with the lighting of the Oil Lamp, singing of the National anthems of Sri Lanka and Japan and then partaking of traditional Sri Lankan foods like Kiribath and other Rasa Kavili. SLBCJ was also one of the main sponsors of this highly successful event.
